Presentation at Workshop on Digital Cultural Heritage at Computer Graphics International (CGI) 2022 conference.
Abstract
One of the long-standing concerns in cultural heritage visualisation has been the importance and difficulty to retain enough information—typically referred to as paradata—about the making and premises of 3D data. Recent standards and policy documents have proposed means to this end but at the same time unravelled the difficulty of determining and labouriousness of producing such documentation. The presentation reviews a selection of approaches proposed to this end and discusses opportunities and problems relating to the production of new standardised documentation and leaving traces.
